Pre-operational checking	Launching appliances must be complete and in good order.
Prior arrangement	Obtain permission from Port Authority and Berth administrator to the boat shake‐out and drop tests.(When drop test can't be carried out in the wharf or dry-dock, confirm the operation before our engineer's visit to the vessel.)
Preparations before operation	① Boat winch should be under condition that brake part and gear box are opened easily. ② Remove over lashing wire rope in advance ③ Charge batteries
Tools for prior arrangement	① Pushbutton switch box ② MAINTENANCE pendant ③ Starter panel ④ Oil, grease (where needed) ⑤ Chain block, gear puller, gas

Presence of responsible official	Inspection must be done at the presence of ship's captain or responsible personnel
Environmental consideration	① Please arrange environments to enable proper operation of life-saving appliances. ② Please arrange the vessel environments to enable dynamic winch brake tests.

Checking records	Checking records of inspections, servicing, repairs and MAINTENANCE.
Open inspection	Open and inspect brake parts and gear box.
Operational test	① Dynamic winch brake test Annual: An empty lifeboat is lowered and braked suddenly when reaching the maximum lowering speed to check the boat for abnormality. 5-yearly: A lifeboat loaded with 1.1 times the full load is lowered and braked suddenly when reaching the maximum lowering speed to check the boat for abnormality. *Please preparation for the weight with keeping the dock's law. ② Inspection for release gear Annual: Operational test of off-load release 5-yearly: Operational test of on-load release and overhaul

Checking of fitting hardware	If no MAINTENANCE pendant or hanging-off pennants, lifeboat should be positioned fully waterborne to test the release gear. (Please carry out the releasing confirmation in boat maker or the vessel.)
Operation of crews	Inspection of weekly and monthly

① If launching appliances has any defects, please give us necessary information in advance. ② When the brake parts or arm head etc can’t be overhauled and operated cause of heavy corrosion, the MAINTENANCE servicing will be suspended. * Information retrieval of repair method., should be consulted. ③ The annual and 5 yearly services and inspection conducted by a service company proves only that these launching appliances have been found to be fit for purpose, and it never guarantee that these launching appliances will be fit for purpose after these inspections.
