The requirements of the annual thorough examination for the launching appliances and the on-load releasing gear specified in Reg.Ⅲ/20.11 are still to be complied and the implementations of MSC.1/Circ. 1206 depends on its associated instructions from each flag state, for the time being.

According to MSC.1/Circ. 1206, annual or five-yearly performance inspection and services must be conducted by qualified engineers properly educated and trained by the manufacturer's representative or by the manufacturer.

On completion of repairs, thorough servicing and annual inspection, a written statement endorsed by the certified personnel qualified for the task will be issued by the manufacturer or its representative, evidencing the life-saving appliances properly conditioned for their intended purposes.
